Bringing the Outdoors In

If you love spending your time in the great outdoors, it only makes sense that you’d love to spend your inside time in a place that has some touches of the outdoors life that you are so fond of.

With the rise in popularity of rustic furniture that came into effect in the late 1980’s, lodge décor is easy to come upon and can be used to bring your outdoors paradise indoors.

Rustic lodge décor is a flashback to time spent at the historic hunting lodges. Lodges were usually made out of logs from the trees in the local area, so any log created items will fit in perfectly to hunting lodge décor. The popular logs for making lodge home décor furnishings are pine and oak. Accents of pinecones, acorns and other items that could be collected nearby were also added in. And nothing says hunting lodge like references to the animals being hunted. Many pieces of cabin and lodge rustic décor depict these animals – ducks, bears, deer, moose, and even the fish that are being fished from nearby streams and lakes.
